Good morning!
First off, I’d like to offer a sincere thank you for being part of today’s event. We enjoyed a fast course, fast air and wonderful weather for a bike race.
At Team Somerset, we honestly love what we do. We are thankful to our volunteers, MainSport timing, our amazing and dedicated USAC officials (you know who you are), and of course our sponsors like Pops Bike Shop for supplying ALL of our prizes for the entire year about $3500 worth!! To say that we can’t do without them is clear.
And we couldn’t do this with out you, our racer. We enjoy hosting races for you, our community. Speaking of community, walking through the parking lot beforehand, I heard nothing but positivity (and maybe some nerves). My favorite comments:
“I’m glad you’re racing today”
“Wouldn’t miss it, its such a great atmosphere.”
“thank you for such a great race and such a great course.”
It strikes me that we had 20 NEW RACERS TODAY. TWENTY!! I thank you specifically. It can all be overwhelming and let’s be honest, it takes guts to duke it out with this crew. I remember my first TT’s vividly. 2019 Sandy Hook and Team Somerset’s Steve Reed and Lew Saling (then known as Somerset Circuit). I wasn’t even a member of Somerset yet. I knew no one, wasn’t sure what a TT was and when I saw everyone warming up on exotic rigs and trainers, was pretty sure I didn’t belong. The community very quickly welcomed me and I’m happy to see that we continue to welcome you. If you need help pinning a number, some advice or have questions (even the silly ones), don’t be afraid to ask. Ask anyone, the NJTT community is a good one.
